ORDER:
Heard learned counsel for the petitioner, learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent No.1, Sri Challa Gunaranjan, learned counsel for respondent No.2 and Sri B. Jithender, learned counsel appearing on behalf of learned Assistant Solicitor General for respondent No.3.
Grievance of the petitioner is that by the impugned order dated 01.07.2021, respondent No.1 refused to accept his representation dated 02.06.2021 for change of his surname as well as his mother's surname as 'Yelamanchili', and also for change of his father's name as 'Yelamanchili Subramanyeswara Rao'.
Learned Standing Counsel appearing for respondent No.1 submits that the Hon'ble Supreme Court notified several guidelines with regard to the correction or change of name, date of birth etc., in the certificates issued by Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE). He refers to the guidelines of the Hon'ble Supreme Court mentioned in paragraph 204 of its judgment in Jigya Yadav (Minor) (Through Guardian/Father Hari Singh) v. C.B.S.E. and others1.

Learned counsel for the petitioner and learned counsel for the respondents submit that directions be issued to the respondents to consider the request of the petitioner for change of surname of himself and his mother as 'Yelamanchili' and for change of his father's surname and name as 'Yelamanchili Subramanyeswara Rao' in his CBSE certificates keeping in view the guidelines of the Hon'ble Supreme Court mentioned in Jigya Yadav's case (supra).
In view of the above, this Writ Petition is disposed of directing the respondents to consider the request of the petitioner for change of surname of himself and his mother as 'Yelamanchili' and for change of his father's surname and name as 'Yelamanchili Subramanyeswara Rao' in his CBSE certificates and take a decision thereon keeping in view the guidelines of the Hon'ble Supreme Court in paragraph Nos.204 to 207 of Jigya Yadav's case (supra) within a period of five (5) days from the date of receipt of a copy of this order.
Miscellaneous applications, if any pending, shall stand closed. There shall be no order as to costs.
