JUDGMENT: (Per the Hon'ble the Chief Justice Hima Kohli)
1. The appellants have filed the present appeal being aggrieved by
the order dated 01.03.2021 passed by the learned Single Judge in
W.P.No.4529 of 2021 filed by them, assailing the action of the
respondent No.3/Civil Supplies Deputy Tahsildar in seizing 252.40
quintals of rice, as also the lorry bearing the rice belonging to the appellants, which petition has been disposed of with directions to the respondents to release the vehicle after obtaining a valuation certificate from the concerned Motor Vehicle Inspector subject to certain conditions imposed therein. After addressing arguments for some time, learned counsel for the appellants states that the appellants would be satisfied if the respondents are directed to finalise the proceedings under Section 6-A of the Essential Commodities Act, 1955 (for short 'the Act') in a time bound manner.
2. Ms. Jyothi Kiran, learned counsel for the respondent No.3 states that she has no objection to the said suggestion and assures the court that notices under Section 6-B of the Act shall be issued to the appellants within one week from today, if not already issued and W.A.N o.114 of 2021 Page 1 of 2 thereafter, the proceedings shall be expedited and brought to a conclusion.
3. In view of the submission made by learned counsel for the respondent No.3, the present appeal is disposed of as not pressed along with the pending applications, if any.
