1. Through the instant petition filed under Section 482 of the Bharatiya Nagarik Suraksha Sanhita, 2023 (fo (forr short "BNSS"), the petitioner seeks anticipatory bail in case FIR No.81 dated 25.03.2026, registered under Sections 318(4), 336(2) of BNS, 2023, at Police Station Civil Lines Bathinda, District Bathinda.

2. On 17.04.2026, the following order was passed by this Court: -
"Prayer Prayer in the present petition filed under Section 482 of the BNSS, 2023 is for grant of anticipatory bail to the petitioner in case FIR No.81 dated 25.03.2026, registe registered red under Sections 318(4), 336(2) of BNS, 2023, at Police Station Civil Lines Bathinda, District Bathinda.GURPREET 2026.04.29 16:31 I attest to the accuracy and

CRM-M-20639 20639-2026 2 Learned counsel for the petitioner contends that the petitioner is innocent and has been falsely implicated in the present case. He further contends that the petitioner has no concern with the said offence and the allegations levelled against him are vague. Learned counsel contends that the petitioner has already filed a suit (Annexure P P-2)
2) against the complainant which is still pending. He further con contends tends that the complainant to wriggle out of the agreement of sale and to avoid the execution and registration of the sale deed, concocted a story and got registered the present FIR against the petitioner. He states that the agreement of sale (Annexure P P-1)) and the receipt & affidavit (Annexures P-3 P 3 and P P-4)
4) clearly show that the case is purely of civil nature which has been given criminal colour.
Learned counsel submits that the entire evidence in the present case is documentary in nature and no money trai traill is to be traced or recovery is to be made from the petitioner. Learned counsel has further submitted that the petitioner is ready and willing to join the investigation as and when called upon to do so by the investigating agency.
Notice of motion.
On asking of the Court, Mr. Ravinder Singh, DAG, Punjab, accepts notice on behalf of respondent respondent-State State and seeks time to file status report in the matter.
Sh. Nishan Singh Chahal, Advocate has appeared and filed memo of appearance on behalf of the complainant. He, while opposing the petition for anticipatory bail, has contended that the petitioner has played an active role in the crime and, thus, does not deserve the concession of bail.
Adjourned to 28.04.2026.
In the meantime, the petitioner is directed to joi join n investigation within a week from today and would appear as and when required by the Investigating Officer and cooperate with the Investigating Agency. 3. Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that in compliance of the order dated 17.04.2026 passed by this Court, the petitioner ha has joined the investigation.
4. Learned counsel for the State, on instructions from HC Makhan Singh, has submitted that the petitioner has ha joined the investigation and is no longer required for further investigation.
5. Learned counsel appearing for the complainant submits that the Learned offence committed by petitioner is serious in nature and hence, opposes the grant of bail to the petitioner.

6. In view of the statement made by learned State counsel, the interim order dated 17.04.2026 passed by this Court, is made absolute. The petitioner shall continue to join investigation, as and when called by the Investigating Officer and shall also abide by the conditions as provided under Section 482(2) of the BNSS.
