1. Petitioners seek quashing of FIR No.0006 dated 04.02.2025 under Sections 315(2), 85 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Women Police Station, Kurukshetra, District Kurukshetra and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, on the basis of compromise dated 26.05.2025.
2. On 19.03.2026, this Court directed the parties to appear before learned trial Court/Illaqa Magistrate for recording of their statements on the basis of compromise dated 26.05.2025.
3. In compliance of the aforesaid order, parties appeared before learned JMIC, Kurukshetra on 08.04.2026. Statement of Investigating Officer ASI Renu was recorded on 15.04.2026. Learned JMIC, Kurukshetra has submitted her report recording satisfaction that all the parties have entered into a valid compromise without any influence or coercion. Point- wise report as under has been submitted:

As per the statement of the Investigating Officer ASI Renu, No.19/KKR, P.S. Jhansa, the present FIR No.0006 dated 04.02.2025 was registered against three accused persons namely Ravinder Kaur, Roshan Lal Bibiyan and Manpreet.
2. Number of accused who have appeared before the Trial Court and made statements.
All the accused persons namely Ravinder Kaur and Roshan Lal Bibiyan have appeared before this Court in person and their statements have been recorded and accused Manpreet has appeared before this Court through video conferencing and his statement has been recorded.
3. Whether during investigation, any additional accused has been added and he/she is a party to the compromise.
As per the statement of the Investigating Officer, no additional accused has been added during investigation.
4. Whether any of the accused is an absconder/proclaimed person(s).
As per the statement of the Investigating Officer, no person/accused has been declared absconded or proclaimed offender at any stage.
5. Whether after registration of the FIR, any offence was added or deleted during investigation.

6. Whether investigation is pending against any of the accused or any accused has been declared as innocent.
As per the statement of the Investigating Officer, no investigation is pending against any of the accused and accused Roshan Lal Bibiyan has been declared innocent.
7. Name(s) of the complainant and injured/aggrieved.
The complainant/injured/aggrieved in the present FIR is Rajni.
8. Whether all injured/aggrieved have appeared and their statements recorded.
The complainant/injured/aggrieved Rajni has appeared before this Court and her statement has been recorded.
9. Whether Investigating Officer has appeared and whether his/her statement has been recorded.
The Investigating Officer ASI Renu, No.19/KKR has appeared before this Court and her statement has been recorded.
10. The stage at which the trial is pending.
The case is at the stage of prosecution evidence.
11. Satisfaction of the Trial Court that the compromise is genuine, voluntary and out of free will of the parties.
Upon perusal of the statements of the complainant and the accused and after questioning them, this Court is satisfied that SUMIT SINGLA the compromise is genuine, voluntary and out of free will of the 2026.04.24 18:15 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this document CRM-M-52664-2025 (O&M) -4- parties, without any pressure, threat or coercion.
12. Whether any other criminal case or proceedings is pending against the accused.
As per the statement of the Investigating Officer, no other criminal case or proceedings is pending against the accused persons."
4. Learned State counsel has not raised any dispute regarding the factum of compromise between petitioners and respondent no.2.
5. Since the matter has been amicably settled between the parties, continuation of the criminal proceedings would be an exercise in futility. The dispute which has its genesis in a matrimonial discord, warrants exercise of powers under Section 528 BNSS.
6. Following principles of law laid down by the Full Bench Judgment of this Court in "Kulwinder Singh and others Vs. State of Punjab and another" 2007(3) RCR (Criminal) 1052 and Hon'ble Supreme Court in "Gian Singh Versus State of Punjab and others" (2012) 10 SCC 303, the petition is allowed.
7. FIR No.0006 dated 04.02.2025 under Sections 315(2), 85 Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023, Women Police Station, Kurukshetra, District Kurukshetra and all consequential proceedings arising therefrom, are quashed qua the petitioners.
8. Pending miscellaneous applications, if any, stand disposed of.
