1. This writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India inter alia for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.2 and 3, to decide representation dated 23.08.2024, Annexure P-6, and to issue a fresh passport to the petitioner.
2. Counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner applied for the passport on 27.03.2024, Annexure P-1, and a notice dated 24.07.2024, Annexure P-3, was served upon the petitioner calling upon him to supply some documents. He submits that the petitioner appeared before respondent No.3, on 23.08.2024, and supplied a copy of judgment dated 27.03.2024, Annexure P-4, passed by the Judicial Magistrate First Class, Sub-Division, Bilaspur, whereby petitioner had been convicted for offence under Section 13-A of Public Gambling Act, 1867, and fine of Rs.200/- was imposed. Counsel submits that as the petitioner did not hear from the respondents, he submitted a representation, Annexure P-6, which is pending.

3. Advance copy of the petition has been served upon the respondents.
4. Upon instructions from Mr. Vinay Vashisht, Superintendent, Regional Passport Officer, Chandigarh, Mr. Hans submits that in case the petitioner supplies the certified copy of judgment, Annexure P-4, respondents shall proceed to process the application.
5. In view of the statement made by the counsel for the respondents, writ petition is disposed of.
6. In case, the petitioner supplies the certified copy of judgment, Annexure P-4, to the respondents, within a period of three weeks from today, respondents shall proceed and process the application submitted by the petitioner.
