The jurisdiction of this Court has been invoked under Article 227 of the Constitution of India for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for taking the convict Harmanjot Singh i.e. respondents No.2 into lawful custody to undergo sentence as per judgment passed by learned ASJ, Rupnagar dated 29.01.2024 whereby the punishment imposed on Harmanjot Singh/respondent No.2 for 6 months of rigorous imprisonment under Section 323 IPC is upheld.
Learned counsel for the petitioner prays for withdrawal of the present petition.
