The present intra-Court appeal is directed against judgment dated 21.11.2023 passed by a learned Single Judge of this Court dismissing the appellant's writ petition filed by him seeking wherein quashing of the award dated 06.11.2019 passed by the Presiding Officer, Industrial Tribunal, Patiala (for short - the Tribunal) through which, after holding the appellant's termination to be illegal, compensation @ Rs.35,000/- was granted.
2. A perusal of the impugned judgment reveals that before the learned Single Judge, learned counsel for the appellant had confined his prayer only with regard to the enhancement of the compensation awarded by the Tribunal.
3. After hearing learned counsel for the appellant and scrutinizing the impugned judgment, we find that after considering the fact that before 1 of 2 ::: Downloaded on - 06-05-2024 23:55:08 ::: Neutral Citation No:=2024:PHHC:060826-DB LPA-671-2024 (O&M) 2 2024:PHHC:060826-DB termination of his services, the appellant had served the respondent- Management, as a security guard, for about 06 years and that at the time of termination of his services he was drawing a monthly salary @ Rs.7,165/-, the learned Single Judge enhanced the compensation payable to the appellant from Rs.35,000/- to Rs.2,00,000/-.
4. In the afore facts of the present case, we find that the compensation granted to the appellant by the learned Single Judge is reasonable and does not warrant any interference.
5. Dismissed.
