1. The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking setting aside of order dated 20.06.2013 (Annexure P-9) whereby representation of the petitioner for appointment to the post of ASI on compassionate ground has been rejected.
2. The father of the petitioner passed away on 23.05.2009 and at that time, he was posted as Assistant Sub Inspector with Punjab Police. The mother of the petitioner on 13.10.2009 applied for the post of ASI and thereafter, she vide application dated 08.03.2010 applied for the post of Constable. The father of the petitioner at the time of his death was ASI, however, in 2018 his seniority was revised and he was declared Inspector w.e.f. 30.06.2005. The father of the petitioner died in harness, however, he was not killed by terrorist, thus, claim of the petitioner was not covered by policy of 1989.

3. Learned State counsel submits that the issue involved in present case stands adjudicated by this Court in CWP-9624-2014 titled as KANWALJIT SINGH VERSUS STATE OF PUNJAB & ORS decided on 06.05.2024. This Court has dismissed petitions seeking same relief.
4. Learned counsel for the petitioner could not controvert the applicability of aforesaid judgment to the present case.
5. The present petition stands dismissed in terms aforesaid judgment.
