Aggrieved by the judgment dated 10.01.2012, passed by the Judge, Special Court, Patiala, vide which the appellant was convicted and sentenced to undergo for a period of six months and to pay a fine of Rs.1,000/- under Section 15 of NDPS Act 1985, the appellant has come up before this Court by filing the present appeal in the year 2012.
On instructions, counsel for the State submits that the appellant has expired on 30.08.2016 and in this regard, he has handed over status report along with statement of Pavittar Singh, Nambardar s/o Charan Singh and Beant Singh S/o Joginder Singh, both resident of Village Joliya, who stated in their statement that the appellant has expired on 30.08.2016 and at the time of cremation they were present at the spot. The said documents are taken on record.
Given above, appeal is disposed of as abated. Pending applications, if any, stand disposed of.
