1. The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India, is to issue a writ in the nature of mandamus, for directing the respondents to grant the enhanced Dearness Allowance to the petitioners.

2. Learned counsel would submit that the petitioners have not been granted enhanced Dearness Allowance as allowed to the similarly situated employees with effect from July 2020. Learned counsel submits that the petitioners would file a representation within 4 weeks, which may be directed to be decided in a time bound manner by granting them an opportunity of hearing.

3. Notice of motion.

4. At the asking of the Court, Mr. Manipal Singh Atwal, DAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection to the limited prayer made.

In view of the aforesaid and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction that in case the HAMANT 2024.03.22 19:19 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment CWP-7035-2024 2024:PHHC:042080 2 petitioners submit a representation within a period of 4 weeks, the same shall be decided expeditiously, preferably within six months, by the respondents and if found entitled, necessary benefit be granted to them forthwith.
