1. The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is to issue a writ in the nature of mandamus, for directing the respondents to grant at least the minimum of the pay scale alongwith other benefits to the petitioners.

2. Learned counsel would submit that the prayer of the petitioners for grant of minimum pay scale has not been considered, which has been raised by serving a legal notice dated 09.01.2024, Annexure P-8. He thus, at this stage, on instructions, submits that the petitioners are sanguine of it being considered in a positive manner, in case, a direction is given to the respondents to decide the same in a time bound manner in light of the judgments, as it is covered in his favour, passed in CWP-12583-2020 titled as Baljinder Kumar and others vs. State of Punjab and another, decided on 07.02.2024, Annexure P-12 and CWP-7531-2017 titled as Amar Kumar and others vs. State of Punjab and others, decided on 27.02.2024, Annexure P- 13, relying on the judgment of the Hon'ble Supreme Court passed in State of HAMANT 2024.03.22 19:18 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment CWP-7017-2024 2024:PHHC:042037 2 Punjab and others vs. Jagjit Singh and others, 2016(4) SCT 641 and Harvinder Singh and others vs. State of Punjab and others, CWP-2031- 2016, decided on 21.01.2020.

4. At the asking of the Court, Mr. Charanpreet Singh, AAG, Punjab accepts notice on behalf of the respondent-State and has no objection to the limited prayer made.

5. In view of the aforesaid and without commenting upon the merits of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction to the respondents to consider the legal notice dated 09.01.2024, Annexure P-8 and decide the same taking note of the aforesaid judgments, within a period of six months and if found entitled, necessary benefit be granted to them forthwith.
