1. By way of present writ petition filed under Article 226/227 of Constitution of India, petitioners have inter alia sought issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus for directing the official respondents to hold the election of the office bearers of the board of directors of Mill- respondent No.4, as provided under Bye-Laws 16 (B) of the registered Bye-Laws of the Mill.
2. Pursuant to order dated 27.02.2024 passed by this Court, Mr. Vikas Singh, who is representing Mill-respondent No.4 has placed on record a copy of the communication received from the General Manager of respondent No.4, which is reproduced hereunder:-

Subject: CWP No.4060 of 2024, Malkit Kaur v/s. RCS. Sir, The above said writ petition has been filed by Malkit Kaur and six other Directors with a prayer that election of Chairman and Vice- Chairman should be held. The matter has already been discussed with you. As per the Bye-Laws, Clause 19-B, the meeting of BOD's is to be convened by the General Manager of Sugar Mill. The meeting for election of Chairman and Vice-Chairman would now be convened by the General Manager of the Sugar Mill as per bye laws clause No. 19-B as soon as possible and in any case, it would be held within a period of Four weeks from today. This is for your information.

3. On the basis of the above communication, Mr. Vikas Singh, assures that the elections will be held within a period of four weeks from the date of issuance of the communication.
4. As an apprehension has been expressed by counsel for the petitioners that the law and order situation may be created, respondent No.1 is directed to ensure that free and fair elections are held. In case, respondent No.1 deems proper, it may take assistance of the police force.
5. Petition is disposed of.
