CORAM : HON'BLE MR. JUSTICE RAJBIR SEHRAWAT

Present:- Mr. Aditya Dassaur, Advocate,
            for the petitioners.

RAJBIR SEHRAWAT, J. (Oral)

1. The present writ petition has been filed under Article 226/227 of the Constitution of India, for issuance of a writ in the nature of mandamus directing respondents No.1 and 2 to release the compensation amount in respect of land acquired comprising of khasra No.9799, 17818/9792, 17822/9797, 18578/9798, 18588/9810, situated at village Chak Hussaina, Lamba Pind, District Jalandhar, which was acquired by them.

2. The land already stands acquired by the respondents in due course of law. The petitioners are the persons, who claim to have acquired title of the land after the process of acquisition was started. Therefore, no compensation has been paid to them. To assert the right to get the compensation, the petitioners had even filed a civil suit bearing No.705/2015, which already stands dismissed by the trial Court, vide judgment and decree dated 12.12.2022. It is not even in dispute that no further appeal has been filed by the petitioners. Hence, the judgment and decree dated 12.12.2022 have attained finality.
