1. The prayer in the present Civil Writ Petition filed under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India, is to issue a writ in the nature of mandamus, for directing respondents to offer the petitioner appointment on compassionate basis and to release all dues of her mother.

2. Learned counsel would submit that the petitioner had submitted an application in 2019 for compassionate appointment on account of the death of his mother on 18.07.2015, who was working as Ward Attendant in ESI Hospital, Hoshiarpur, which was under active consideration. Reference is made to letters dated 15.09.2021 and 15.11.2022, Annexures P-3 and P-4 respectively, which is the inter department correspondence with a copy to the petitioner, wherein, inter alia, copy of education and other documents etc. were also sought from him. She prays that the petitioner will file a representation requesting the respondents within two weeks which may be decided in a time bound manner.

3. Learned State counsel has no objection to the limited prayer made.

In view of the aforesaid and without commenting upon the merits HAMANT 2024.03.15 10:19 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment CWP-6048-2024 2024:PHHC:036945 2 of the case, this petition is hereby disposed of with a direction in case the petitioner submits a representation within a period of two weeks, the same shall be considered by the respondents and decided by taking note of the pleas raised, within a period of 4 months and if found entitled, necessary benefit be granted to him forthwith and release all dues of his mother.
