1. The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to take action upon legal notice dated 09.05.2016 (Annexure P-2) and to grant promotion/benefits as have been granted to similarly situated employees who along with the petitioners were on duty at the time of terrorist attack on 27.07.2015 on Police Station Dinanagar, District Gurdaspur.

2. Mr. Pawan Kumar, Deputy Advocate General, Punjab, at the outset, submits that like the petitioners for the same incident, few other police officials filed writ petition titled as "Ashok Singh and others v. State of Punjab and others", CWP No.2500 of 2016 which has been dismissed by this Court vide order dated 22.03.2020.

3. On being confronted, learned counsel for the petitioners expressed his inability to controvert applicability of aforesaid judgment to the facts of present case.

4. In the wake of aforesaid judgment in Ashok Singh (supra), this Court is of the considered opinion that present petition deserves to be dismissed and accordingly dismissed.
