1. The petitioner through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents to release his as well as his children's passports.
2. Mr. Bhupinder Banga, Advocate, inter alia contends that petitioner was acquitted vide judgment dated 02.03.2024 in FIR No. 165 dated 02.12.2019, under Sections 447, 427, 506 of IPC, registered at Police Station Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur. The police found him innocent in FIR No. 77 dated 14.06.2017, under Sections 323, 148, 149 of IPC (Section 325 IPC added later on) registered at Police Station Mahilpur, District Hoshiarpur, however, he was summoned under Section 319 Cr.P.C.

3. Mr. Ashutosh Dhankar, Advocate, submits that petitioner appeared before passport authority and he was apprised that he should file fresh application. If he files fresh application, it would be expeditiously disposed of.
4. Faced with this, counsel for the petitioner submits that petitioner shall file fresh application seeking passport, however, passport authority may be directed to decide his application expeditiously.
5. In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
