1. The petitioners through instant petition under Articles 226/227 of the Constitution of India are seeking direction to respondents to re-fix their pension and other supernumerary benefits on the basis of last pay drawn by them.

2. Written statement filed on behalf of respondents No. 2, 4 and 5 is taken on record. Registry is directed to tag the same at appropriate place.

3. Mr. Abhay Gupta, Advocate, pointing out judgment dated 06.11.1998 passed by Apex Court in SLP No.10938 of 1997 titled as "State of Punjab vs. Nirmal Singh and others", submits that pension of petitioners is to be paid by the State of Punjab.

4. Mr. B.S.Sidhu, Advocate, submits that grievance of the petitioners, at this stage, would be redressed if respondents are directed to decide their representation/legal notice dated 18.11.2023 (Annexure P-7) in terms of judgment dated 11.12.2018 (Annexure P-5) passed by this Court in a bunch of petitions including CWP No. 5881 of 2002, titled as Ghansham Dass Gupta vs. State of Punjab and others" 2019(2) SCT 62.

5. Mr. Aman Dhir, DAG, Punjab submits that representation of the petitioners would be decided within eight weeks from today.

6. In the wake of statement of statement of State counsel, the petition stands disposed of.
