The petitioners seek issuance of direction to the official respondents to protect their lives and liberty as they apprehend threat to the same at the hands of respondent No.4.
Pursuant to issuance of notice of motion the State has filed status report by way of affidavit of Ms. Neha Aggarwal, Deputy Superintendent of Police, Sub-Division, Samana, District Patiala. The same is taken on record. The relevant extract of said report is reproduced hereinunder:
"7. That it is further submitted that as during the course of the enquiry conducted by ASI Narinder Singh Police Post Dakala, P.S. Passiana, District Patiala the petitioners have admitted this fact that after filing the present petition neither they have received any threatening call from their son Ramandeep Singh nor they have any information about his whereabouts, therefore, for the time being son MOHAN SINGH 2024.04.09 01:45 I attest to the accuracy and integrity of this order/judgment CRWP-148-2024 (O&M) -2- 2024:PHHC:047471 they have no danger to their life and liberty from their son. But taking the precautionary measures both the petitioners have been provided the mobile numbers of SHO P.S. Passiana, Incharge, Police, Post Dakala, ASI Narinder Singh Police, Post Dakala as well MSC Police Post Dakala and patrolling parties of Police, Post Dakala have also been directed to keep special vigil and also to visit specially the residence of the petitioners to ask them, if they have any problem in this regard."
In view of the aforestated position, this Court does not find any ground for issuance of any direction, at this stage. The petition, as such, is dismissed. Needless to mention, in case the petitioners, at any later stage, apprehends any threat, it shall be open to the petitioners to approach this Court again.
