1. The petitioner through instant petition under Article 226 of the Constitution of India is seeking direction to respondents No. 1 to 4 to issue him passport.

2. The petitioner in June' 2023 applied for passport. An FIR No.66 dated 02.06.2007, under Sections 15 and 25 of the NDPS Act, 1985, was registered against him at Police Station, Dehlon, District Ludhiana. Trial Court vide judgment dated 27.05.2013 convicted him. He was sentenced to undergo RI for a period of two years alongwith fine. He filed 1 of 2 ::: Downloaded on - 06-04-2024 21:39:31 ::: Neutral Citation No:=2024:PHHC:046384 CWP-4140-2024 -2- 2024:PHHC:046384 CRA-S-1991-SB of 2013 before this Court. His sentence was suspended by this Court. On account of said case, till date passport has not been issued to him.

4. Mr. Amit Sharma, Senior Panel Counsel for Union of India, who on advance notice is present in Court, accepts notice and waives service. He submits that as on date, no application filed by the petitioner before passport authority at Chandigarh/Jalandhar is pending and if he files a fresh application, it would be disposed of, in accordance with law.

5. Counsel for the petitioner agrees to the aforesaid arrangement.

6. In the wake of statement of both sides, the petition stands disposed of.
