Learned counsel for the respondents is unable to distinguish judgment of the Supreme Court in Jigya Yadav (Minor) (through Guardian/Father Hari Singh) Vs. C.B.S.E. (Central Board of Secondary Education) & ors., 2021 SCC Online SC 415 as the change sought is supported by the public documents.
The petitioner has sought change in mother's name in the Class X & XII certificates. The name is mentioned as 'Kirandeep' and 'Kaur' is sought to be added.
As the matter is covered by the Jigya Yadav (supra), the writ petition is allowed.
The respondents are directed to issue corrected certificates to the petitioner within four weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.
