Learned counsel for the petitioner submits that during the pendency of the present petition, the petitioner has already been released the family pension which was the main claim in the present petition. He further submits that as the entitlement of the petitioner for the grant of family pension was from 16.05.2019, but as the same has been released in the year 2022, the petitioner is entitled for interest on the delayed release of the said benefit hence, the petitioner be given liberty to approach the respondents raising the said claim in view of the judgment of the full Bench of this Court in A. S. Randhawa Vs. State of Punjab in CWP No.2883 of 1997 dated 16.05.1997, according to which, the pensionary benefits are to be released to a claimant within a period of two months of the retirement in case there is no impediment, failing which claimant will be entitled to interest.

release of the family pension, the said claim will be decided within a period of eight weeks of the receipt said order by passing an appropriate speaking order and in case, the petitioner is found entitled for the relief, the same will also be released to her within a period of next four weeks.
Learned counsel submits that the present petition may kindly be disposed of having been not pressed with liberty to approach the respondents.
