Prayer: Writ Petition filed under Article 226 of the Constitution of India
seeking issuance of Writ of Certiorarified Mandamus, calling for the records
in LR.No.SED/DEDC/DFC/DP1/E.HT SC No.0890942200105/D.No.268
2022 dated 24.08.2022 quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the
respondents to permit the petitioners to pay the additional security deposit a
sum of Rs.82,28,808/- in 10 equal monthly installments along with the regular
current consumption charges.

ORDER
This Writ Petition is admitted.
2.Mr.M.Abul Kalam, learned Standing Counsel takes notice for the respondents. This Writ Petition is taken up for disposal at the admission stage itself with the consent of the parties.
3.The prayer in the Writ Petition reads as follows:-
“calling for the records in LR.No.SED/DEDC/DFC/DP1/E.HT SC No.0890942200105/D.No.268 2022 dated 24.08.2022 quash the same as illegal and consequently direct the respondents to permit the petitioners to pay the additional security deposit a sum of Rs.82,28,808/- in 10 equal monthly installments along with the regular current consumption charges.”
4.The issue in the Writ Petition is covered by the judgments of this 2/4 https://www.mhc.tn.gov.in/judis W.P.No.24269 of 2022 Court W.P.No.16246 of 2016 dated 29.04.2016, W.P.No.9971 of 2020 dated 31.07.2020, W.P.No.10858 of 2021 dated 29.04.2021 and W.P.No.14688 of 2021 dated 19.07.2021. In the said judgments, this Court had extended the benefit of instalment payment for payment of Additional Security Deposit by similarly placed persons. I do not see any reason to take a different view.
5.Hence, this Writ Petition is disposed of with a direction that the petitioner will be permitted to pay the Additional Security Deposit in six (6) monthly instalments along with regular current consumption charges on or before 15th of every Engligh calendar month. No costs.
