JUDGMENT
The petitioner/claimant has filed this petition under Section 29A of the Arbitration and Conciliation Act, 1996 seeking an extension of time for a further period of four months from 26.05.2024 for the completion of the Arbitration proceedings and for passing the Award.
2. The pleadings of the parties were completed on 07.07.2022. On 26.05.2022, on the basis of the consensus between the parties, the period of Arbitration was extended by six months. Upon expiry of the above period of six months on 26.11.2023, it was further extended as per order of this Court for a period of six months. The above period so extended by the order of this Court would expire on 26.05.2024.
3. Now that it is submitted by the learned counsel representing both sides that the learned Arbitrator requires at least four months' time for the completion of the procedures and for passing the Award.
4. Having regard to the submissions of the learned counsel representing both sides in the above regard, as well as 3 OP(ATE) No.15 of 2024 the facts and circumstances of the case, I am of the view that the extension of period of Arbitration for a further span of four months is required to meet the ends of justice.
