                                   JUDGMENT

The above writ petition is filed seeking the following reliefs:-

"i) issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order, direction, directing the 1st respondent to change the name of the petitioner from Riya Susan Mathews to Shreya Susan Mathews in Ext.P3 to P3 (e) mark cum grade card and all other records in the college at the earliest;

ii) issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order, direction, directing the 2nd respondent to direct the 1 st respondent college to submit Ext.P3 to P3(e) mark cum grade card and other relevant records with the new name of the petitioner in view of Ext.Pl notification for further action forthwith;

(iii)issue a writ of mandamus or any other appropriate writ or order, direction, directing the 1st respondent to consider Ext.P5 request of change of name of the petitioner and change her name in all college records; and

(iv) pass such other orders as this Hon'ble Court deems, fit, proper and necessary in the circumstances of the case."

2.The petitioner successfully completed BA (English Literature and Communication Studies) from St Theresa's College, Ernakulam. W.P.(C).No.37152/2017 4 According to the petitioner, she changed her name from Riya Susan Mathews to Shreya Susan Mathews as per Exhibit P1 notification. Thereafter, when the petitioner requested the 2nd respondent University to correct her name in the records, it has been allowed by the 2nd respondent and direct the petitioner to submit the documents for correction, is the submission. However, when the petitioner requested the 1st respondent college authorities to change her name in Exhibits P3 to P3(e) mark cum grade card, no order has been passed. The above stand of the college is against Exhibit P4 proceedings of the University, is the contention. Hence, this writ petition is filed seeking a direction to the 1 st respondent to change her name from Riya Susan Mathews to Shreya Susan Mathews.

3. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner, the learned counsel for the 1st respondent and the learned counsel for the University.

4. When this writ petition came up for consideration on 21.12.2017, this Court passed the following order:-

"There will be an interim direction to the 1 st respondent to correct the name of the petitioner from Riya Susan Mathews to Shreya Susan Mathews in the mark cum grade cards issued to her pending disposal of the writ petition."

Today, when the matter came up for consideration, the 1 st respondent submits that corrected documents were issued after the interim order. If that is the case, nothing survives for consideration in this case. Recording the order dated 21.12.2017, this writ petition is disposed of.
