                                 JUDGMENT

This writ petition is filed seeking directions to the respondents 1 and 2 to afford adequate police protection to the life of the petitioners against the illegal and highhanded actions of the respondents 3 and 4 and their henchmen.

2. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that though complaints had been submitted before the police, no action had been taken thereon.

3. Though notice was taken up to respondents 3 and 4 and was duly served, there is no appearance for the said respondents.

4. The learned Government Pleader submits on instructions that the parties have been summoned to the police station and that the allegations of the petitioners are that respondents 3 and 4 are slandering the petitioners. It is submitted that the parties were instructed not to cause any law and order problems and at present, there are no law and order issues.

5. The learned counsel for the petitioners submits that there are still threats from respondents 3 and 4. In case the petitioners face any threat from the respondents 3 and 4 by any overt act on their part, the petitioner may approach the 2nd respondent, who shall look into the matter and take appropriate steps.

This writ petition is ordered accordingly.
