                                JUDGMENT

Dated this the 8th day of June, 2022 The petitioner states that she has to travel abroad in connection with her official capacity and had applied for passport on 21.02.2022. However, the respondent informed the petitioner that her application for passport was filed suppressing material information and Ext.P1 show cause notice dated 25.02.2022 was issued calling for her explanation. The petitioner stated that she has submitted Ext.P2 explanation to Ext.P1. According to the petitioner, she has not suppressed any material facts before the respondent. It is stated that, though a crime is registered against her, she has not been charge- sheeted and that passport cannot be denied to her.

2. Since the petitioner has already submitted Ext.P2 explanation to Ext.P1 show cause notice, I am of the view that the writ petition can be disposed of with a direction to the W.P.(c) No.18445/2022 3 respondent to consider Ext.P2 explanation within a short period. Accordingly, there will be a direction to the respondent to consider Ext.P2 explanation of the petitioner to Ext.P1 show cause notice and take appropriate decision in accordance with law within ten days from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.

The writ petition is disposed of with the above direction.
