JUDGMENT
This writ petition is filed seeking the following reliefs:-
a) A writ in the nature of mandamus, commanding the respondents to consider favourably the request of the petitioner for a posting at Thekke Pattupurakkal Devi Temple of Chakkamkulangara Devaswom of Thrippunithura Group, as a special case, in the light of Exhibit-P5 request;
b) A writ in the nature of mandamus, commanding the respondents to give the petitioner a posting as Kazhakam in Thekke Pattupurakkal Devi Temple, Chakkamkulangara Devaswom of Thrippunithura. Group in a time frame.
2. Heard the learned counsel for the petitioner and the learned standing counsel appearing for the respondents.
3. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that the petitioner is presently working as Kazhakam in Vadakkumnadhan Temple, Palakkad. It is submitted that the petitioner has preferred a request seeking a transfer to any of the temples in the Thrippunithura Group. It is submitted that the petitioner's wife is a cardiac patient, awaiting a surgery and WP(C) NO. 17679 OF 2022 3 that the documents with regard to IVF treatment being undergone by the petitioner are also produced along with the request made before the respondents for a transfer.
Having heard the learned standing counsel and considering the contentions advanced, I am of the opinion that it is for the respondents to take up an appropriate decision on the request made by the petitioner. Accordingly, there will be a direction to the 1st respondent to take up the request made by the petitioner for a transfer and to consider and pass orders on the same, after considering his contentions and after considering the documents produced by the petitioner. Appropriate order shall be passed within a period of three weeks from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
