JUDGMENT
This original petition is filed by the accused No.3 in C.C. No.444/2017 on the file of the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court I, Varkala. The prayer sought for in this original petition is for a direction to the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court I, Varkala to expedite the trial of the said case and to complete the same within a time frame.
2. When this original petition came up for admission on 14.07.2022, a report was called for from the learned Magistrate as to the status of the case and the time required for completing the process. Today when the matter is taken up, a report dated 19.07.2022 issued by the learned Magistrate has been placed on record wherein it is mentioned that, the trial can be completed within a period of twelve months. On perusal of the reasons stated in the said report and the other attending circumstances, I am of the view that, the period mentioned therein is reasonable. In such circumstances, this original petition is disposed of directing the Judicial First Class Magistrate Court I, Varkala to complete the OP(CRL.) NO. 328 OF 2022 3 proceedings in C.C. No.444/2017 within a period of 12 months from the date of production of a copy of this judgment.
