ORDER
Dated this the 7th day of July, 2022 The petitioners are accused Nos.1 to 8 and 10 to 13 in crime No.383/2014 of Wadakkancherry Police Station, which is now pending as S.C. No.1159/2016 before the First Additional Assistant Sessions Court, Thrissur. The offence alleged against the petitioners is under Section 402 of the Indian Penal Code. This Crl.M.C. is filed for quashing all further proceedings in the aforesaid sessions case.
2. When the Crl.M.C. came up for consideration, the learned counsel for the petitioner confined his relief to an early disposal of the said case. Accordingly, on 14.06.2022, a report was called for from the learned Assistant Sessions Judge as to time required for completing the trial of the said case. In response to the same, a report dated 29.06.2022 has been placed on record therein. The learned Magistrate requested for eight months to dispose of the case. In the facts and circumstances of the case, I find the time mentioned by the Crl.M.C.No.6298/2021 :5 : Assistant Sessions Judge is reasonable.
In the result, the Crl.M.C. is disposed of directing the Additional Assistant Sessions Court-I, Thrissur to expedite and complete the trial of S.C. No.1159/2016 within a period of eight months from the date of production of a copy of this judgment.
