THIS WRIT PETITION (CIVIL) HAVING COME UP FOR ADMISSION ON 26.08.2022,
THE COURT ON THE SAME DAY DELIVERED THE FOLLOWING:
WP(C) NO. 27485 OF 2022

JUDGMENT
The petitioner alleges that there are certain discrepancies in the marks awarded to her in one of the subjects in the B.Arch Course, being pursued at the Holy Crescent College of Architecture - of which the 3rd respondent is the Principal; and that, therefore, she has preferred Ext.P4 complaint before the 2nd respondent - Board of Adjudication for Students Grievances of the Mahatma Gandhi University. She prays that said complaint be directed to be taken up and disposed of by the Board within the shortest time frame to be fixed by this Court, which she suggests to be a maximum of three weeks.
2. Sri.Surin George Ipe - learned Standing Counsel for the Mahatma Gandhi University, in response to the afore submissions of Sri.R.Harisankar, learned counsel for the petitioner, submitted that Ext.P4 complaint will be placed before the Board of Adjudication for Students Grievances in their very next meeting and that a final decision with respect to its contents will be taken after hearing the petitioner, within a period of one month. He submitted that, this is the minimum period required for his client to ensure that Ext.P4 is properly considered.
3. When I consider the afore submissions, it is indubitable that the petitioner only seeks Ext.P4 be directed to be taken up and disposed WP(C) NO. 27485 OF 2022 3 of by the Board of Adjudication for Students Grievances of the University at the earliest, but preferably within a period of three weeks.
4. However, since the University seeks a week's more time, I am of the view that their request needs to be acceded to.
Resultantly, I order this writ petition and direct the 2nd respondent
- Board of Adjudication for Students Grievances, to hear the petitioner and dispose of Ext.P4 complaint, after following due procedure and adverting to all applicable Rules and Regulations; thus culminating in an appropriate order and necessary action thereon, as expeditiously as is possible but not later than one month from the date of receipt of a copy of this judgment.
