 WP(C).No.27404 OF 2020 2

                                 JUDGMENT

Dated this the 7th day of January 2021 The writ petition seeks for a direction to grant electric connection for the agricultural irrigation facilities of the petitioner. Petitioner has a cardamom cultivation in her land situated in Sy.No.232/1/3 of Bisonvally village.

2. It is submitted by the learned counsel for the petitioner that inspite of Ext.P6 application having been submitted, the 1 st respondent has not granted electricity connection for her irrigational facilities.

3. Learned Standing Counsel appearing for the 1st respondent submits that the application for electricity connection has not been considered because there was no proper application filed by the petitioner. The learned Standing Counsel invites my attention to Ext.P6 application, which on perusal is found to be only a letter issued by the petitioner through speed post, whereas the Electricity laws require a proper application to be submitted. It is pointed out that the application can even be submitted online.

4. Learned counsel for the petitioner submitted that petitioner will file a proper application within a period of one week. WP(C).No.27404 OF 2020 3 In the event of the petitioner filing a proper application for getting electric connection for her agricultural operations within seven days from today, the 1st respondent shall take up the application for consideration and pass appropriate orders within a period of two weeks from the date of receipt of such an application.

The writ petition is disposed of accordingly.
