                                         ORDER

30.10.2024 Heard Mr. P.P. Dutta, learned counsel for the writ petitioners. Perused the averments made in the writ petition. The petitioners are primarily aggrieved by the order dated 02.07.2022, by means of which, the earlier order dated 29.06.2021 was cancelled, thus reverting the petitioners back to the original post of Forester-I from the post of Deputy Ranger.

Mr. Dutta, learned counsel submits that the case of the petitioners is covered by the judgment and order of this Court dated 01.02.2024 passed in WP(C) No.5299/2022 and, therefore, a similar order be passed in the present case as well.

Mr. D. Gogoi, learned Standing Counsel, Forest Department, Government Page No.# 4/4 of Assam, however, prays for some time to obtain instruction(s) facilitating expeditious disposal of this case.

In view of the above, issue notice of motion, returnable on 06.12.2024. Since, Mr. D Gogoi, learned Standing Counsel, Forest Department, Government of Assam has appeared and accepted notice on behalf of all the respondents, no formal notice is required to be sent in this case.

Extra copies of the writ petition, requisite in numbers, be furnished to the learned departmental counsel, so as to enable him to obtain instruction(s).

Heard on the prayer of interim relief.

The said prayer would be considered on the returnable date. It is, however, made clear that any order adverse to the interest of the petitioner, if passed during the pendency of this writ petition, shall be subject to further order that may be passed in this proceeding.

List this case again on 06.12.2024.
