29.07.2024 [Manish Choudhury, J.] Mr. N. Barman, learned counsel for the accused-appellants and Mr. R.K. Deb Choudhury, learned Deputy Solicitor General of India assisted by Ms. L. Devi, learned Standing Counsel, NIA have conjointly submitted that the appellants herein who have been facing the trial in Special NIA Case no. 2 of 2023, have since pleaded guilty to the charges framed against them and on the basis of their such plea, the learned Special Court, NIA, Assam, Guwahati has convicted them for the offences under Section 120B, IPC and Section 38 & Section 39 of the Unlawful Activities [Prevention] Act, 1967, by a Judgment and Order dated 26.07.2024. With the aforesaid projection, the learned counsel for the parties have submitted that since the present appeals are under Section 21[4] of the National Investigation Agency Act, 2008 against an order refusing grant of bail, the present appeals have become infructuous.
