3. Vide the present petition, the petitioners seek quashing of FIR No. 640/2016 dated 26.05.2016 registered at Police Station - Mangol Puri, Delhi and consequent proceedings arising therefrom. CRL.M.C.6249/2019 Page 1 of 3

5. Notice is accepted by learned APP for the State and counsel for the respondent no.2 and with the consent of the counsel for the parties, the present petition is taken up for final disposal.
6. The petitioner no.1 and respondent no.2 got married on 29.09.2001 as per Hindu rites and rituals. One child was born out of the wedlock, namely, Dhiren Khurana. The husband of respondent No. 2, namely, Nitin Khurana was expired on 21.01.2013, however, the respondent No.2 continued to reside at her matrimonial home. Due to extreme incompatibilities between the petitioners and respondent no.2, both the parties filed cases against each other in the Court of law.

The petitioners and respondent no.2 with the intervention of their well wishers and relatives entered into an amicable settlement vide settlement deed dated 20.11.2019 and settled all their disputes amicably. As per the settlement, a demand draft bearing No.876144 dated 04.12.2019 for the balance amount of ₹23,00,000/- (Rupees Twenty Three Lakhs) is handed over to the respondent No. 2 today in the Court.
8. The complainant is present in person with her counsel and has been identified by SI - Balwan Singh/IO of Police Station - Mangol Puri and CRL.M.C.6249/2019 Page 2 of 3 submits that matter has been settled and she does not wish to prosecute the matter any further.
9. Taking into account the aforesaid facts, this Court is inclined to quash the concerned FIR as no useful purpose would be served in prosecuting the petitioners any further.
10. For the reasons afore-recorded, the FIR No. 640/2016 dated 26.05.2016 registered at Police Station - Mangol Puri, Delhi and consequent proceedings arising therefrom are quashed.
11. The petition is allowed and disposed of accordingly.
