1. Learned counsel for the respondent has filed status report today in response to queries raised vide order dated 25th May, 2009. In response to query No. 3 whether the petitioner was given training at Sarahan, Tehsil Rampur Bushar, District Shimla, Himachal Pradesh, the respondents have admitted that SSB had imparted training to one Mr. Bogal Ram son of Mangu Ram, resident of Village Sangar, Post Office Parmundal, Police Station Vijaypur, Tehsil Samba, District Jammu (J&K) during the period 3 rd March, 1986 to 5th April, 1986. The name and residential address of the petitioner is the same, but as per the petitioner his father's name is Mangali Ram and not Mangu Ram. The petitioner, it is apparent is the same person, who had undergone the said training. The fact that the petitioner was arrested in Pakistan on 24th July, 1992 and had remained there under detention till 2000 is also admitted. As per the enquiries WPC No.3352-2008 Page 1 made by the respondents, the petitioner had made several trips to Pakistan and had gone to Lahore, Sialkot, Gujranwala,Faislabad, etc.

In this connection, learned counsel for the petitioner has drawn my attention to orders passed in the case of Balwan Singh versus Union of India, CWP No. 6543/2001 and High Court of Gujarat in Special Civil Application No. 12239/2007 titled Mayadevi Nanakchand Yadav versus Union of India and Others .
3. In view of the peculiar facts of the present case and the report now filed by the respondents, it is directed that the respondents will pay a sum of Rs.5,00,000/- to the petitioner within five weeks. On the said payment being made, no further proceedings and claim will be entertained from the petitioner.
The writ petition accordingly stands disposed of.
