The Petitioners have filed this Petition seeking a writ of 1/2 11-WP-6720-2026.doc Dixit ::: Uploaded on - 20/05/2026 ::: Downloaded on - 20/05/2026 21:07:21 ::: mandamus directing Respondent no.1-University of Mumbai to provide the benefit of "Carry-On" facility to the Petitioners for the academic year 2025-26. It is not in dispute that this facility is available for the academic year 2024-25 and the University has not issued any circular for the current academic year 2025-26.
2. Ms. Yadav, learned counsel appearing on behalf of the Petitioners relies upon the order dated 6 th May 2026 passed by this Court in Interim Application no.3512 of 2026 arising out of Writ Petition no.3766 of 2026 in respect of some other students and submits that based on this order, the Petitioners ought to be permitted to appear for the re-examination starting from 2nd June 2026.
3. Mr. Sheth, learned counsel appearing for Respondent no.1- University submits that the Petitioners' reliance on the order dated 6 th May 2026 is misplaced and he seeks time to file an affidavit-in-reply to oppose this Petition. Such an affidavit shall be filed on or before 25 th May 2026.
