1. Heard learned counsel for petitioners and learned State Counsel for opposite parties no. 1 & 3 to 8 while notice on behalf of opposite party no. 2 has been accepted by Mr. Vijay Vikram Singh Advocate.
3. Petition has been filed seeking a direction to the concerned authorities not to compel petitioners to deposit his licenced fire arms in pursuance of impending lok sabha elections.
4. Learned State Counsel submits that State Government has issued a notification dated 3rd April, 2024, in which it has been specifically directed that in pursuance of directions issued by this Court in various writ petitions, directions for deposit of licensed fire arms are to be issued on a case wise basis upon examination by the screening committee and no general or oral orders can be passed with regard to aforesaid.
5. Considering the aforesaid notification and submissions made by learned State Counsel, it is directed that the petitioners shall not be compelled to deposit his licensed fire arm until and unless compliance of notification dated 3rd April, 2024 has been made and specific written orders with regard to deposit of such fire arms has been issued by the screening committee upon examination of individual cases and also in terms of directions issued by this Court vide judgment and order dated 30.03.2019 passed in Writ Petition No. 8774 (M/S) of 2019 (Ziaur Rahman Alvi versus State of U.P. and others).
6. In view of aforesaid, petition stands disposed of.
