Heard learned counsel for the petitioner and learned Standing Counsel appearing for the respondents.
The facts as disclosed in the writ petition are vague. This Court is not in position to ascertain as to whether the proceedings, which were taken against the petitioner under the Urban Land Ceiling and Regulation Act, 1976 had been concluded and if so, under which order and what were the consequences.
The petitioner, however, seeks expunction of the name of the State Government from the records on the ground that he still continues in possession of the plot in question, and, therefore, with the enforcement of the Urban Land (Ceiling and Regulation) Repealed Act, 1999, the name of the State Government from the relevant records must be removed and substituted with the name of the petitioner.
We are of the considered opinion that on the vague allegations made, no positive mandamus need be issued by this Court.
The petitioner is at liberty to approach the concerned competent authority for necessary corrections in revenue records.
The writ petition is dismissed with the aforesaid observations.
