Learned counsel for the petitioner states that after filing of the writ petition, the respondent have issued notifications for acquisition of the land in dispute under the provisions of the National Highways Act, 1956; therefore, the writ petition has lost its efficacy.
In view of the above, the writ petition is dismissed as having become infructuous.
It would, however, be open to the petitioner to avail remedies available to him under the law against the acquisition proceedings, if any.
