In the present case minor punishment had been imposed against the petitioner by Superintendent of Police, Kanpur on 21.12.2004. As is envisaged under rule 11 of the U.P. Police Officers of Subordinate Rank (Punishment and Appeal) Rules, 1991, petitioner preferred appeal, which was allowed on 15.11.2005 and the order of punishment was set aside. Petitioner has stated that in spite of the appeal having been allowed, till date benefit of the same has not been extended to the petitioner.

Consequently, in the facts of the case, Superintendent of Police, Farrukhabad is directed to see and ensure that the grievance of the petitioner is remedied, within next eight weeks from the date of receipt of a certified copy of this order.

Writ petition stands disposed of accordingly.
