Role Summary/Job Specifications:
- Handle end to end management of consumer litigation cases filed against the Company across the different districts, states and National Consumer commissions and other courts, forums, etc
- Managing Insurance Ombudsman cases, attending and resolving the cases and taking steps for closure of award.
- Preparing Self Contained notes after receiving opinions from the respective internal stakeholders.
- Drafting and vetting of Written statements, evidence and other necessary pleadings.
- Complying with Ombudsman Awards / filing of Writs before the jurisdictional High Court.
- Co-ordinate with Advocates for filing replies, evidence and appeals within statutory timelines
- Review and analyze Court orders; recommend further legal action (appeal / review / settlement or compliance).
- Assess pre-ligation grievances related to claim repudiation, delay, policy servicing issues, etc.
- Recommend settlements or corrective measures that reduce potential litigation.
- Handle due diligence of property related matters and IPR issues.
- Review and vetting of the Leave and License Agreement, drafting of formal communications to be addressed to the Landlord and advising the concerned team with legal opinion and associated legal implications.
- Providing legal Advice to internal stake holders based on facts and supporting documents ensuring timely guidance aligned with legal, regulatory and organizational requirements.
- Provide guidance to internal teams for handling disputed cases, high risk or sensitive claims
- Maintain litigation tracker, case summaries and necessary records.
- Advising on claims cases and other departments on legal matters.
- Attending all courts for by and against cases and defending and taking proactive steps.
Skills Required:
- Technical
- Knowledge of the Consumer Protection Act, 2019, CPC, Criminal laws and the Evidence law, Insurance laws.
- Understanding of Insurance and Contract laws along with the related Guidelines, Rules & Regulations.
- Good drafting skills.
- Ability to analyze FIR s, PM Reports, hospital records and treatment papers, etc. to determine liability.
- Good legal research.
- Good exposure to MS Office.

- Effective Communication skills (both written and verbal).
- Demonstrated time management skills with the ability to handle multiple tasks and deadline.

Eligibility
- LLB from a reputed law college.
- More than 6 years experience, preferably form Life Insurance industry.
