JOB POST: Director (Legal) @Bureau of Indian Standards, Delhi: Apply by March 11
Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS), statutory body under the administrative control of Govt. of India, Ministry of Consumer Affairs, Food & Public Distribution, Department of Consumer Affairs invites applications for filling up of One (01) vacancy in the post of DIRECTOR (LEGAL) in the Level-12 in the Pay Matrix [PB-3/Grade pay of Rs.7600] by Direct Recruitment.
Qualification & Experience
- Degree in Law
- At least 10 years’ experience in senior position in labour laws, civil laws, etc., or practice in civil or labour courts or judicial experience; proven ability in drafting of petitions, written statements, replications, agreements, written opinions involving interpretation of laws, preparation of charge-sheets, etc.; full proficiency in labour and industrial laws, civil and criminal procedures.
- Maximum age: 45 Years (As on the closing date of the receipt of applications)
How to Apply?
Applications should be sent only in prescribed proforma [refer Annex I in the official notification below] duly completed and signed along with self-attested photocopies of the following documents:
- Proof of Date of Birth.
- All certificates/Testimonials in respect of qualifications [all semesters/year-wise Mark Sheets, Degree and Diploma Certificates starting from Graduation onwards].
- Complete and proper Experience Certificates/ Documents issued by Employer in support of experience details mentioned by the candidate in the application form.
The prescribed application form duly signed and affixing latest passport size color photograph along with and self-attested copies of the testimonials/ documents/demand draft mentioned above should be sent to

by regd./speed post only. Envelope containing application should be superscribed with the name of post applied for e.g. “Application for the post of Director (Legal) on Direct Recruitment” on top Right Hand corner of the envelope.

Selection Process
Selection Process may involve Screening of Applications by Screening Committee or Screening/Written Test. Candidates shortlisted would be interviewed by the Selection Committee.
The test/interview or both would be conducted at New Delhi or at any place that may be decided by the Bureau. The candidates will be selected on the basis of merit. Schedule of test or/and interview will be intimated to the candidates through their given email ID and the same will be displayed on the official website as well.
Therefore, the candidate should keep checking their email and visiting the BIS website for important announcement/ information throughout the selection processes at various stages.
Note: The expenses upto second class train fare for to and fro journeys from normal place of residence by shortest route shall be payable for appearing in the interview.
