Centre for Civil Society (CCS) has been ranked amongst the top 60 think tanks in the world (and amongst the top 3 from India) by the University of Pennsylvania’s highly acclaimed annual Think Tanks and Civil Societies Program (TTCSP) report, for the past 5 years.

About the Event

On popular demand, the Fake News Conference is back with its second iteration. The Conference aims to bring together 30 students and young professionals with policy and domain experts, and leading liberal thought-leaders to dialogue on the state of the media, the limits of disinformation, misinformation and fake news, and an in-depth practical workshop on fact-checking.

The 1-day conference will include two dedicated online sessions steered by leading domain experts, including an exhaustive session introducing the concept of fake news, the various debates surrounding it, and its multifarious implications on society and public policy followed by an in-depth and practical workshop on how journalists conduct fact-checking operations in India’s newsrooms.
