The National Law Institute University, Bhopal (NLIU), in association with the Office of Senior Advocate and Member of Parliament, Mr. Vivek Tankha; Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC) and L&L Partners Law Offices (formerly Luthra & Luthra Law Offices), is pleased to announce the fourth edition of its flagship event – NLIU Justice R.K. Tankha Memorial International Moot Court Competition, organized in the fond memory of Late Hon’ble Justice R.K. Tankha, to celebrate his extraordinary legacy.We take pride in the continued growth and demonstrable excellence of the Competition over the years, and of the subsequent recognition it receives from esteemed media outlets, both legal and non-legal.

Collaborations and Awards

This edition is supported by the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), one of the world’s leading arbitral institutions, as the Institutional Partner, and L&L Partners Law Offices (formerly Luthra & Luthra Law Offices), one of the leading full-service law firms of India, as the Knowledge Partner.

Awards include cash prizes to the tune of INR 2,50,000 to the meritorious participants, trophies and access to research resources. Winners and the Best Oralist of the Moot will receive internship opportunities from L&L Partners Law Offices and SIAC, respectively.

The Competition will be held in NLIU, Bhopal.

Friday, 22nd February to Sunday, 24th February.

Timeline

  • Last Date for Provisional Registration: October 10, 2018.
  • Last Date for requesting of Clarifications: October 20, 2018.
  • Release of Clarifications: October 30, 2018.
  • Last Date for Final Registration (to be completed only upon provisional registration’s confirmation): November 10, 2018.
  • Submission of Memorials (soft-copy): February 5, 2019.
  • Rounds: February 22-24, 2019.

Registration Process

Institutions interested in participating are required to mandatorily register with us, provisionally, for the Moot. The registration must be done through the concerned institution’s designated MCC/MCS/MCA.

Only upon the confirmation of provisional registration, a registration link to the Online Registration Form will be sent for the final registration and fee payment.

The Registration Fee for the Moot is INR 4,000 for a 2-member or a 3-member team, and INR 5,000 for a 4-member team. In upholding our long tradition of hospitality, we will provide complimentary accommodation and food to all participants during the period of the Moot.
