Apex Court has refused to accept hearing a plea of Calcutta HC judge Justice C S Karnan for recall of his 6 month jail term for contempt of court.

Petition was held as “not maintainable” by the Supreme Court registry.

CS Karnan, through his lawyers, had moved the SC seeking recall of the 9th May order of the 7 judge bench which held him guilty of contempt of court & sentenced him to 6 months imprisonment by ordering West Bengal police to take him into custody.

J. Karnan hasn’t yet been arrested.

Earlier this week, J. Karnan’s lawyer got a scolding from Chief Justice of India JS Khehar when he repeatedly mentioned the case & requested for constituting the Bench.

CJI lost patience & warned him that he’ll be sent out of the Court for repeatedly interfering in the Court work.
