Delhi HC will provide the Domestic help to its Former Chief Justices and the other Judges at its expense.
Domestic Help to the Former Chief Justices and the Former Judges of Delhi High Court Rules, 2017 were framed by HC subsequent to the resolution by all its judges in April,2017.
Delhi Government on May 30,2017 had notified Rules which were framed pursuant to resolution adopted in this regard in April last year at Chief Justices’ Conference held here on April 22-23, 2016.
According to the notification.Benefit under the rules would also be available to surviving spouse of the Former Chief Justice or the Judge of the High Court during lifetime of the spouse.
The Rules further lay down the eligibility conditions of judge to avail the benefits, mode of selection of domestic help as well as the reimbursement of monthly wages of the help.
Under the rules, Former CJ or Judge can either at his or her own discretion select a domestic help or request High Court to appoint one of its employees.
Domestic helps would be appointed on contractual basis and their wages shall be equivalent to the salary payable to the Class-IV employees of the High Court in grade of a peon or equivalent with yearly increment as applicable.
According to the Rules Former CJ or Judge can also engage more than one domestic help, but the High Court will pay wages of only one.
