Though the Act is of 1955 but the Rules in force are of Bihar Control of the Use and Play of Loudspeakers Act, 1949 (Bihar Act 13 of 1950) and was published in the Bihar Gazette, 1951.

  1. (1) These shall be called the Bihar Control of the Use and Play of Loud-Speakers Rules, 1951.

(2) They shall come into force with effect from the 20th January, 1952.

  1. (1) No person shall use and play a loud-speaker within any area to which the Bihar Control of the Use and Play of Loud-Speakers Act, 1949 (Bihar Act XIII of 1950), applies-

(a) at any time, within a radius of 440 yards from the outer compound wall of an indoor hospital.

(b) between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. at any other place, without the permission in writing of the District Magistrate, or the Sub-Divisional Officer of the Sub-Division within which the place is situated.

(2) An application for permission to play a loud-speaker at any place, other than any place within a radius of 440 yards from an indoor hospital between the hours of 11 p.m. and 5 a.m. shall be made in the form annexed to these rules.
