Itki Tuberculosis Sanatorium Local Authority (Officers and Servants) Rules, 1957

No. V/R/RI-04/57 - 32366-H. - In exercise of the powers conferred by subsection (1) and clause (aa) of sub-section (2) of Section 15 of the Itki Tuberculosis Sanatorium (Regulation of Buildings) Act, 1951 (Bihar Act 23 of 1951), the Governor of Bihar is pleased to make the following Rules, namely :-

  1. (i) These Rules may be called the Itki Tuberculosis Sanatorium (Officers and Servants) Rules, 1957.

(ii) They shall come into force at once.

  1. In these Rules unless there is anything repugnant in the subject or context, -

(a) "Act" means the Itki Tuberculosis Sanatorium (Regulation of Buildings) Act, 1951;

(b) "member" means a member of the Sanatorium Local Authority;

(c) "Section" means a Section of the Act,

(d) all words and expressions used in these Rules and not defined herein shall have the same meaning as respectively assigned to them in the Act.

  1. The strength of officers and servants to be employed by the Sanatorium Local Authority and the salary and allowances to be paid to such officers and servants shall be as follows :-

(a) One Sub-Overseer for looking after the building in the scale of pay of Rs. 70-3-100-E.B.-5-125 per month.

(b) One Head Clerk-cum-Accountant in the scale of pay of Rs. 80-4-100-E.B.-5-120 per month.

(c) One Typist in the scale of pay of Rs. 50-2-70-E.B.-2-90 per month.

(d) One peon in the scale of pay of Rs. 25-1-30 per month:

Provided that State Government shall have power to revise the scales of pay or to revise number of posts specified above.

  1. Cost of living allowance and other allowances shall be paid at th6 rate sanctioned by the State Government from time to time.
  2. There shall be an Appointment Committee consisting of the Superintendent of the Itki Sanatorium and two other members to be appointed by the State Government.
  3. All appointments shall be made on the basis of merit of the candidates who may be examined by the Appointment Committee.
  4. An employee (other than a temporary one) shall remain on probation for a period of six months after which period the Superintendent of the Itki Sanatorium shall submit a report before the Appointment Committee regarding the work done by him and the Committee shall then consider the question of confirming him in the post. The minutes of the Committee shall be recorded and properly maintained.
  5. The services of an employee on probation shall be terminable on one month's notice on either side.
  6. Leave shall be granted as per leave Rules in force in Government offices.
  7. The Superintendent, Itki Sanatorium, shall have authority to grant not more than one month'sleave on medical and other grounds. Leave of longer duration and of other types shall be granted by the Committee on the recommendation of the Superintendent.
  8. All employees shall have to contribute to the Provident Fund as per the Provident Fund Rules in force in the Ranchi District Board. The Sanatorium Local Authority will make a contribution of one anna in a rupee to the Provident Fund of each of its employees, irrespective of the contribution made by the employees themselves.
