ACT NO. 35 OF 1963

An Act to provide for the repeal of the Dramatic Performances Act, 1876, in force in the Union
territory of Delhi.
BE it enacted by Parliament in the Fourteenth Year of the Republic of India as follows:—
- Short title.—This Act may be called the Dramatic Performances (Delhi Repeal) Act, 1963.
- Repeal of Dramatic Performances Act, 1876.—On and from the date on which the Madras
Dramatic Performances Act, 1954 (Madras Act XXXIII of 1954), is extended by notification under
section 2 of the Union Territories (Laws) Act, 1950 (30 of 1950), to the Union territory of Delhi, the
Dramatic Performances Act, 1876 (19 of 1876), as in force in the Union territory, shall stand repealed.
- Saving.—The repeal of the Dramatic Performances Act, 1876 (19 of 1876), by section 2 shall
not affect—
(a) the previous operation of the said Act or anything duly done or suffered thereunder; or
(b) any right, privilege, obligation or liability acquired, accrued or incurred under the said
Act; or
(c) any penalty, forfeiture or punishment incurred in respect of any offence committed against the
said Act; or
(d) any investigation, legal proceeding or remedy in respect of any such right, privilege,
obligation, liability, penalty, forfeiture or punishment as aforesaid;
and any such investigation, legal proceeding or remedy may be instituted, continued or enforced
and any such penalty, forfeiture or punishment may be imposed, as if the said Act had not been repealed.
