In exercise of the powers conferred by sub-section (II) of Section 34-A of the Madhya Pradesh Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1973 (No. 22 of 1973), the State Government in consultation with the Kuladhipati, hereby makes the following rules, namely :-

  1. Short title.- These rules may be called The Central Board of Studies Rules, 1986.
  2. Definitions.- In these rules, unless the context otherwise requires,-

(a) "Act" means the Madhya Pradesh Vishwavidyalaya Adhiniyam, 1973 (No. 22 of 1973);

(b) "Central Board" means the Central Board of Studies for foundation course or a subject or group of subjects as notified under sub-section (1) of Section 34-A;

(c) "Chairman" means the Chairman of the Central Board of Studies as nominated under sub-section (4) of Section 34-A;

(d) "Headquarter University" means such University to which the Chairman's institution is affiliated or of which the Chairman is a teacher;

(e) "Section" means the section of the Adhiniyam.

  1. Meeting of the Central Hoard.- Every Central Board of Studies may meet as and when necessary.
  2. Place of meeting.- The meeting of the Central Board of Studies shall be held at the place at which the main office of the Headquarter University is located or at any place specified by the Kuladhipati or the Ayog.
  3. Procedure of the meeting.- (1) The Central Board shall follow the same procedure for its meetings as is being followed for the meetings of Board of Studies of Headquarter University.

(2) The Registrar or any other Officer nominated by the Kulpati of the University shall give necessary ministerial and other assistance to the Chairman of Central Board of Studies and shall also maintain record of proceedings of the Central Board. Such officer shall also work as the Secretary of the Central Board.

(3) The proceedings of a meeting shall be drawn up by the Chairman and shall be forwarded to the Kuladhipati under sub-section (9) of Section 34-A for approval of the recommendations contained in the proceedings and for the notification of the date from which these recommendations shall come into force.

  1. Expenditure of the meeting.- The expenditure of the meetings shall be borne by the Headquarter University.
